In the era of the Late Paleolithic (12,000–15,000 years ago), ancient people, who needed faithful companions for hunting and housing guards, tamed and domesticated the wolf. The brave beast fights to the last breath and without fear looks into the eyes of the enemy.

Wolf courage, based on strong nerves, a developed defensive reaction and a penetrating mind, is characteristic of many individuals of a diverse tribe of four-legged human friends - representatives of the most daring breeds of dogs.

Bullmastiff

The appearance of the bullmastiff is a matter of respect and concern. A massive proportional body, a large head with steel jaws and a strict piercing look - the whole appearance of a magnificent animal breathes power and makes a serious impression. This is exactly what the British cynologists sought, creating a new breed in the 19th century. Dogs, in the veins of which the blood of a bulldog and a mastiff flows, were called to help the British rangers in the detention of criminal poachers.

Courage is combined in the extraordinary character of the bullmastiff with caution. These giants are endowed with tremendous intelligence. They know how to make the right decisions and will never climb into a dog brawl. If this is not necessary, thoughtful giants will not endanger themselves. But when it comes to protecting the owner and his family, brave dogs turn into valiant defenders who do not know fear of the enemy.

Rottweiler

In the mosaic paintings of Ancient Rome, you can find the image of powerful dogs participating in gladiatorial fights and accompanying legionaries on long hikes and bloody battles. Strong-willed menacing animals became the ancestors of modern Rottweilers. The birthplace of squat dogs with a muscular body is German Rottweil. The physical strength of the first representatives of the breed was used in the transportation of heavy goods and the protection of property.

Owners of the Rottweilers speak of their wards as complaisant, energetic, confident and devoted creatures with a stable nervous system. Dogs are distinguished by quick wit, perseverance, natural fighting qualities, efficiency and absolute courage. These traits help powerful colosses, if necessary, to decisively attack the enemy, not to give up and not to retreat.

Fox terrier

Extraordinary strength, amazing endurance, dexterity and flexibility. These character traits are inherent in the Fox Terrier, bred on the British Isles during the heyday of the Roman Empire. Initially, animals whose height does not exceed 40 cm were used to capture rats in houses and barns. Since the XVII century, the brave four-legged have become indispensable helpers in the hunt for foxes and badgers. Compactly built dogs have innate qualities: an aggressive attitude towards prey, assertiveness, reckless courage and stranglehold.

A properly trained fox should climb into a dark hole without fear, strangle the beast (sometimes superior to the temperamental little hunter in size and strength) and pull the trophy to the surface of the earth. Fox terriers are designed to work, so dog breeders are advised to get these cute creatures to active people who love walking and long games with their pets.

Caucasian Shepherd Dog

The history of the shaggy dogs of the Caucasus, whose ancestors were gigantic Tibetan dogs, goes back to the 5th century. Over the centuries, mountain residents have been picking the smartest pets, able to make decisions independently and courageously protect flocks entrusted to them from wolf packs. Today, huge creatures (height at the withers - 64–75 cm) are impeccable watchmen and defenders with incredulity to outsiders and a lightning reaction.

Among ignorant people in dog breeding there is an opinion that Caucasians are evil creatures with primitive intelligence. Professional dog handlers say: "There are no stupid and uncontrolled dogs, but there are bad owners." With proper upbringing and a firm hand, confident giants grow out of bear-like puppies. They are distinguished by a balanced character, boundless courage and willingness to protect the owner, even at the cost of their own lives.

Cane Corso

The Molossian ancestors of modern Cane Corso were distinguished by strong jaws, impressive size, Spartan endurance and considerable strength. The colossal power of the ancient Romans took part in the persecution of lions and bears, entered the gladiatorial arena for battles with predatory animals and, shrouded in iron armor, fearlessly attacked the enemy in military clashes.

Today, Cane Corso is the perfect watchman, under no circumstances showing fear. Courageous four-legged guards are endowed with rare observation, dedication and a pronounced territorial instinct. Cautious and suspicious, they do not hesitate to defend the owner and his property. In inept hands, athletically built titans can grow into aggressive uncontrollable monsters that pose a threat to others.

West Siberian Laika

West Siberian Laika, bred in the 20s of the XX century in the vast North and Siberia, is one of four varieties of hunting huskies. Dog handlers classify the ancestors of modern representatives of this primitive breed as the oldest on the planet. The sharp-eyed dogs flaunt a strong back, a wedge-shaped head, a thick undercoat and muscular limbs, indicating their close relationship with the wolf.

From their wild ancestor, animals inherited an extraordinary courage that helps in the work on the beast. The bear cubs have exceptional courage. They should not only find a clubfoot and make a painful grip (for the gachi or hind legs), but also hold it until the owner arrives. Fearless four-legged hunters are sometimes so fond of bullying that they forget about their own safety and die under the blows of the powerful predator's powerful paws and teeth.

The most daring breed of dogs

The most daring breed of dogs is a German shepherd. Reliable and loyal helpers of man, the appearance of which the world owes to breeder from Germany rotmister Max von Stefanitz, are universal.

They are equally successful in guarding and searching, grazing sheep and are first-class bodyguards. In the case of aggression from the alleged enemy, watchful dogs show surprising composure, stiffness and fearlessness. Legends confirmed by real stories go about the courage of a masterpiece of German cynology. So, Nemo A534, who took part in the battles of the Vietnam War in 1966, became a model of heroism. During one of the battles, a seriously wounded shepherd, bleeding, defended its body against the owner’s opponents. Even when reinforcements arrived, the faithful dog for a long time refused to budge.

Bullmastiff, Rottweiler, Caucasian Shepherd Dog, Cane Corso, Fox Terrier, West Siberian Husky and German Shepherd are considered to be the most daring dog breeds. However this classification is approximate, because the behavior of the animal depends not only on its genetic predisposition, but also on skillful education and proper training, directing innate traits in the right direction.
