Why did the Ancient Egyptians build pyramids?

How did the Egyptians make bricks?
The Egyptians made bricks from river silt. Brick makers kneaded river mud with bare feet until it became viscous. Then straw and crushed reeds were added to it, making the dirt more dense. Bricks were formed from this mass and dried in the sun to make them solid.
